About the event
Objective: Historical performance data is required to provide some insight into the variability of a project's performance and help understand the risk stakeholders have to bear. By examining estimation scenarios, a project manager can gain insight into the level of risk and the combination of the probability of returns. Learn estimation and planning in this “hands-on” workshop through relevant examples and exercises.
This workshop/session intends to focus on the following problem areas:
- Estimation Overview: problems with traditional estimation and planning and why estimation and planning are often conducted poorly
- Practical Estimation Approaches: understand the mindset for estimation and why over-confidence can be such an obstacle
- Estimation Planning: Using some of the tools and techniques that can help with project estimation and focusing on contingency-based planning
- Risk Contingency: - Build the risk and estimates into the project plan.
- Presenting Information: The best way of explaining the estimation back to the leadership team is to understand the estimate and the level of risk.
